Hello!
I am new to Manchester, CT. Saw your craigslist posting and would love to join you on some hikes. New to tribe.com too-not quite sure what I'm doing! :)
Hope you are doing a hike sometime soon (if it stops snowing/raining!).

Re: HIking in CT
Sat, April 8, 2006 - 1:59 PMhi there! glad to have you here. so far we haven't had much luck getting this tribe going - we used to be on meetup.com but when it started charging money some of us jumped ship, but so far not much has gone on here. the weather is certainly getting nicer so hopefully we'll be out hiking soon. my husband and a friend and i are actually doing a hike tomorrow (unrelated to this group) but it's out in western CT, so not sure if you'd be interested or if it'd be too late to get you in on that. maybe we can meet up somewhere in the middle sometime (we're out in Avon). -

Re: HIking in CT
Tue, April 18, 2006 - 11:42 AMHey there! I am also in Manchester and am interested in meeting folks for some day hikes this spring/summer. My hikes usually include identifying & collecting wild mushrooms and photographing the landscape. I also enjoy tent camping and usually like to hook up with others for events and festivals like camp creek, gathering of the vibes, etc. I'll keep my eye on this thread to see where it leads!
Peace all,

Re: HIking in CT
Wed, April 19, 2006 - 9:14 AMAwesome, welcome to the group! I am a photographer myself, though I usually end up focusing in on details rather than capturing the whole landscape. (I have a website if you're interested ... www.dsbrennan.com)
I'll try and come up with a good date in the next few weeks and post something to see who's interested. Of course anyone is welcome to come up with a plan and lead a hike! I think camping would also be fun at some point, maybe once we've all had a chance to meet each other a few times or something.
I have to talk to my husband and weekend guest but if the weather holds we might be up for something this weekend. -

Wed, April 19, 2006 - 9:23 AMthanks for the welcome it took me a while to figure out how to reply. But I'm available this Sunday if there are anyone else interested.
I was thinking of maybe a hike/walk on one of the rail to trails in CT to meet each other and see what everyone is interested in. anyone interested?? -

Re: HIking in CT
Sat, April 22, 2006 - 7:03 AMSorry to be so last minute! I think I, my husband Matt, and Amber my weekend guest would be up for a hike tomorrow (Sunday), depending on the weather. It's supposed to be pretty rainy, I think. More than was originally forecasted. Anyway if it's not raining too hard we would be up for a hike. We're not too excited about walking just on the rails to trails, but I know of a couple of good, shortish walks just off of the rails to trails that we'd be interested in, if that would work for you. Both are in Simsbury along the Farmington River.
We'll be in touch, maybe we can schedule something and then cancel it if it's raining too much. -

Re: HIking in CT
Sun, April 23, 2006 - 4:29 PMno today, Sunday has turn out to be a wash out. so maybe next weekemd will be better. So if there is a good hike you or anyone else would like to suggest post it and see if there is any interest. It been a frw years since I hiked here so I don't know a lot of the trails.
